1) MS Out over heads of the guests to stage and podium as the VIPs arrive, such as ADM ARLEIGH BURKE, ADM GEORGE ANDERSON and other high-ranking officers and an unidentified civilian; officer steps up to podium, addresses the crowd; this is the chaplain; men remove their hats. G2) MS Chaplain giving the invocation from the podium on the stage; this is at the Naval Academy; invocation over, the chaplain leaves the podium; another officer steps up to the podium, addresses the crowd, steps back away from the podium; ADM BURKE and the unidentified officer come to the salute; man in the civilian clothing on the stage at left appears to be SECNAV CONNALLY; this is a long salute and believed to be made during the National Anthem; officers come down from the salute; unidentified officer again steps up to the podium to address the crowd; crowd seats themselves as the Change of Command ceremony goes into full swing; officer introduces SECNAV CONNALLY, who steps up to the podium; SECNAV dressed in summer suit, white; SECNAV commences to address the crowd in the hall; SECNAV CONNALLY continues his speech; appears to be warm in large hall; distinguished guests are fanning themselves in fg. F3) MS SECNAV CONNALLY leaving podium, seating himself; ADM BURKE, CNO steps up to podium to address crowd and read his orders as being relieved of CNO to be taken over by ADM GEO ANDERSON. G

Arleigh Albert Burke, U.S. Naval Officer, was born near Boulder, Colorado on 19 October, 1901. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1923 and served in the Navy until his retirement in 1961.
